WILDERNESS  PACK  TRIPS
HIKING, RIDING or FULL SERVICE PACK TRIPS
Maximum of any group size is 15 people and a Maximum of 25 pack & riding livestock

You may want to supply your own camping equipment and provisions and use our packer to take your gear to your campsite, drop everything off then leave you to "blaze your own trails". On a pre-arranged date the packer will return to a designated spot to bring your gear back to the pack station. Your group can consist of riders, hikers or a combination of both. Riders can also choose to ride both ways or ride one way and hike the other. Allowable gear (dunnage) is approximately 75 pounds per person per the 2008 court ordered ratio of 1.5 persons per 1 pack animal. Each pack animal can carry approximately 150 pounds.

Or you may want a Full Service trip. On this type of trip all you need to bring is your sleeping bag, tent and personal clothing and items. We will provide the packers, cook, horses & mules as well as the rest of the camp & kitchen gear and food. Usually this is a base camp type of trip but can be a traveling trip if you prefer. Your allowable gear will drop to about 40 pounds per person since the additional weight will be used by Mammoth Lakes Pack Outfit for the kitchen and camp gear.

If a packer is traveling with you on a trip other than a Full Service Trip then plan on feeding him and allow for the packer's gear and livestock grain in your weight limits.

Adding a cook and kitchen to your trip reduces your per person gear to 40 pounds (tent, sleeping bag, personal gear).

Below is the pricing you can use to figure your trip or call us toll free at 888-475-8747 anytime during the year to assist you in putting your trip together and confirming your costs.

Pricing is based on the distance to your destination area, the amount of pack and/or riding stock used and the number of pack station personnel needed for your trip.
